The Baxter Agency is a talent agency located in Toronto, Canada. We are a small agency, specializing in representing Canada's top comedians and actors for Film, Television, Commercial, Voice, Literary and Live Touring. We have clients based in Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles, and New York.
Owner and Agent Carlie Baxter opened the agency in September of 2016. Our focus is to provide our clients with one on one personal guidance and career management. We are known for an honest and straight-forward approach, a genuine enthusiasm for the industry, and an unrivaled commitment to our clients.
To casting, and producers we offer prompt, professional communication. We have a reputation for fair negotiations, and a trusted eye for talent.

At the 2023 Canadian Screen Awards our client TRICIA BLACK won the award for BEST PERFORMANCE IN ANIMATION for her work playing Jason in the Family Channel Series SUMMER MEMORIES produced by Aircraft Pictures.

THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW
Comedians, actors, writers and Second City alumni, and Baxter Agency clients, Alan Shane Lewis and Ann Pornel will join returning judges Bruno Feldeisen and Kyla Kennaley to cheer on 10 new Canadian amateur bakers.

After its first public performance in Paducah, KY, the tour will officially launch in December at the Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco, CA before haunting 27 cities across North America with more dates to be announced shortly. UNTITLED SKATING PROJECT
“Baroness von Sketch Show” star Carolyn Taylor will front a new unscripted comedy series for Canadian streaming service Crave, produced through Catalyst and Blue Ant Studios.
The new series, which is still untitled, is slated to premiere on Crave in 2023.
The action plays out at the intersection of amateur ability and enormous ambition — in this case, inspired by Katerina Witt and the 1988 Calgary Olympics, Taylor’s unlikely quest to choreograph the perfect pairs figure-skating routine to be performed in front of an audience of skating stars and fans. What begins as a light-hearted challenge soon morphs into a real-life mission.

Carlie BaxterOwner / Talent AgentCarlie Baxter started her career at The Second City, while also working as a production coordinator in television. Carlie was quickly promoted and became the Producer of the legendary comedy club in 2002. There she was in charge of casting and producing Tony n' Tina's Wedding, The Second City Touring Company, and The Second City Mainstage.
For over 15 years now Carlie has worked as an agent in the Toronto market, where she has built a loyal roster, and fostered strong industry relationships with casting directors and producers. She has sat on the board of The Canadian Comedy Awards, served as a jury member for the CSA's, and Cream of Comedy. Meg Maguire
Associate / Talent Agent Meg Maguire is a multiple award winning Stage Manager and Lighting Designer, specializing in sketch comedy and improv. After spending over a decade working in the live theatre field, her career took a natural turn to filmed entertainment. She began working for the Baxter Agency in 2018 as an assistant, bringing her knowledge of comedy and keen eye for talent with her. Now she is overseeing her own roster, including the new addition of child actors to the agency. |
